Something has changed

A long-standing customer, behaving differently.

A Danish customer you have traded with for some time has started behaving differently, and you want to know whether anything in public sources lines up with the change. The review sets the company as you have known it against what sources now show. The cited statements on this page are the starting point.

Your decision

Does anything outside our own records explain the change?

Your own file shows a customer's behaviour but not its circumstances. The review looks for what public sources show about the company's footprint and commercial reputation, and says plainly when nothing can be found that bears on the change.

A reason that cannot be found is reported as unavailable, not guessed.

What the sources establish

Cited statements: Denmark

01

Register of record

Erhvervsstyrelsen (the Danish Business Authority) states that since 1999 the Central Business Register (CVR) has been the authoritative register of basic data on all registered companies, and that CVR data are publicly available.

02

Origin of the data

Erhvervsstyrelsen states that CVR data originate from the businesses own registrations and are published, among other places, via CVR.dk, and that associations and public authorities are also registered in CVR.

03

What an entry holds

Erhvervsstyrelsen lists the information held in CVR for a legal unit, including CVR number, name and address, start and end date, company form, industry codes, contact details, number of employees, fully liable participants, founders, owners and management members, and the linked production units (p-number); CPR numbers are not passed on to private parties.

04

Owner information

Erhvervsstyrelsen states in its guidance that from 1 September 2025 only competent authorities, obligated entities and persons with a legitimate interest are entitled to access information on beneficial owners, and that this information is no longer published in CVR.

What this is, and isn't

Research reports what can be established from public and provided sources. It is not a guarantee about a counterparty's future conduct and not legal advice.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Will the review explain why the customer changed?+

Only where public sources show something. Where they do not settle it, the point is marked unavailable.

How is this different from reviewing a new counterparty?+

The workflow is the same; the brief differs. Known concerns and the transaction context carry the history you already have.

What do I send about the change?+

The counterparty name and country, registration details if known, the context, the decisions the review supports and what you have noticed.
