Before you sign

A software vendor, reviewed before you sign.

You intend to sign with an Estonian software vendor and want its commercial background reviewed first. The question the review answers is whether the vendor looks, in public sources, like the company its proposal describes. The cited statements on this page are what the review starts from.

Your decision

Does the vendor look the way its proposal says it does?

A vendor's proposal describes a company, its activity and its standing. The review sets those descriptions beside what public sources show about operational footprint and website consistency, and records where they agree, differ or cannot be compared.

Where a point cannot be compared, the report says so instead of closing the gap.

What the sources establish

Cited statements: Estonia

01

One portal for legal entities

The e-Business Register portal describes itself as the official portal of the Estonian state with the data of all legal entities registered in Estonia in a single environment; the Registration Department of Tartu County Court is the registrar.

02

Search by name or code

The portal states that it is possible to make inquiries about all legal persons, and offers a quick search by name or registry code; contractual clients have more functionality.

03

Bulk and XML routes

The portal lists further query services including open data file downloads, bulk queries for large-scale use, XML queries, and a search of fines imposed on legal persons.

04

Beneficial owners restricted

The e-Business Register help portal states that from 10 July 2026 access to beneficial owners data is by authorised persons designated by the Ministry of Finance logging in as contractual partners, that access is restricted for all users by default, and that the data is not published as open data files.

Step by step

How the comparison is made

01

Start from the proposal

Take the company the vendor presents in its paperwork and match it to what the sources show about that company.

02

Hold it against your own material

Read the sources next to what you supplied and note the agreements and differences found.

03

Mark each finding

Use the four labels only: verified fact, inference, unavailable, client-provided.

04

Close with the gaps

List what the sources could not establish, so it is clear what you are still deciding on.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does the review cover the vendor's software?+

No. It is desk research on public sources about the company's commercial background. The scope is record review, operational footprint and website consistency, public commercial reputation, a red-flag summary and a method and limitations note.

What should I send for a vendor review?+

The counterparty name and country, registration details if known, the transaction context, the decisions the review supports and any known concerns.

How do I read a finding?+

Each finding names its source and one label. A verified fact is read in a cited source; an inference is drawn from verified facts and says so.
