What you supply

A Dutch company, and what the review needs from you.

A review of a Dutch counterparty is scoped from what you tell us: the name and country, registration details if you have them, the transaction context, the decision the review supports and any concerns. This page sets out how those inputs are used and how each finding is marked: verified fact, inference, unavailable or client-provided. What the cited sources state appears only in the source statements section.

The question

What does the review need from me, and what happens to it?

Scope is agreed before reading starts, from the inputs above. What you supply is marked client-provided and set beside what the cited sources show; differences are listed as findings. A point no consulted source answers is marked unavailable and is not estimated.

A registration number or a document from the counterparty is worth sending even if you doubt it.

What the sources establish

Cited source statements

These statements come from the register operator's pages and are cited in the source log.

01

What the register holds

The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK) states that the Business Register (Handelsregister) contains details of businesses and organisations, such as the business name, contact details and information about officials, and that every business and organisation is assigned a unique KVK number.

02

Open search and separate documents

KVK states that anyone can search for businesses and organisations in the Business Register by name, address or KVK number, and that this information is free; a Business Register extract or financial statements are separate documents.

03

Details with restricted viewing

KVK states that details in the Business Register that are not public are available only to people who have permission to view them, such as lawyers, civil-law notaries or bailiffs, under the Business Register Act (Handelsregisterwet).

04

English routes and one Dutch-only route

KVK's English site offers search routes for the Business Register and for the LEI register; one of its ordering routes is labelled as available in Dutch only.

05

Who sees UBO data

KVK states that not everyone has access to the UBO register for vennootschappen: a UBO can view their own UBO data, and organisations with registered UBOs can see the UBOs registered for them.

06

Access levels for UBO data

KVK describes three access levels (UBOB1, UBOB2, UBOB3) for the UBO register, with the Financial Intelligence Unit and competent authorities such as the Netherlands Tax Administration at the highest level, and states that access for Wwft institutions and sanctioning bodies is being restored in stages.
