Banking and payment assessment

Accounts added one at a time, reviewed as one system.

Your accounts and payment tools, taken together, may no longer carry how the business trades; the assessment tests that. We map the flows, currencies and counterparties, find the gaps and single points of failure and set out options. This is a review of the system. It does not rank providers and does not open accounts.

The decision this page is about

Does the money path survive a single failure

Companies accumulate accounts as needs appear: a bank for payroll, a processor for cards, another account for a currency. Seen separately each works. Seen together, one provider may carry all receipts, or a single sign-off person may be needed to approve every payment. The assessment draws the whole path and asks what stops if one piece is withdrawn.

Opening an account is a separate service, Business Accounts. We map and compare; we do not promise that any provider will accept you.

What we look at

What we look at

Inventory

Every account and payment tool, who holds access and what each is used for.

Currencies and corridors

Where money comes from and goes to, in which currency, and where conversion happens.

Concentration

Whether too much depends on one provider, one person or one country.

Continuity

What the business does if an account is frozen, closed or slow to respond.

Three businesses, three different gaps

Three businesses, three different gaps

An online seller whose card receipts all land with one processor

The question is what happens to receipts and refunds if that processor pauses the account. The options differ from a services firm because the money arrives in many small payments.

A consultancy invoicing in three currencies from one account

The review looks at conversion points and who approves payments. A second currency account may be the direction, depending on where the money flows.

A founder who pays company costs from a personal account

The review separates the flows and documents them, so that a provider's questions about the source of money have a written answer.

Typical gap, typical response

Typical gap, typical response

All receipts in one account

Why it hurts: A freeze stops the business. Direction of the options: Spread receipts across separate providers.

No account in a key currency

Why it hurts: Repeated conversion and delays. Direction of the options: Add currency capability where flows justify it.

One person controls access

Why it hurts: Absence blocks payments. Direction of the options: Define backup authority and records.

Personal funds mixed in

Why it hurts: Weak audit trail, awkward questions from providers. Direction of the options: Separate flows and document them.

Options describe direction and trade-offs; selecting providers and opening accounts happen elsewhere.

Good to know

What this is, and isn't

This is business and structuring analysis, not legal, tax or investment advice. Where a legal or tax opinion is needed, we say so and point you to a licensed adviser.

Accounts

Opening the accounts

If the assessment calls for new accounts, the account step is a separate service. See how business accounts are matched to providers.
