An entry decision rests on assumptions about the supply side of a market: that comparable sellers can be identified, and that intermediaries who carry products can be seen. This page covers how the evidence for those assumptions is gathered into the entry pack and set against the decision questions.
The assumptions are written down first. Competitor evidence is placed under the first: which companies sell comparable goods to buyers, what range and which buyer groups they show. Distributor evidence under the second: which intermediaries stock, resell or represent brands, and what they carry. A distributor that already carries a close substitute is flagged as a possible closed route, which is an inference and is labelled as one.
The evidence covers companies found in reviewed sources against criteria you state. It is a set of candidates, not the whole market. A standalone competitor map and a criteria-based partner search are separate Research services.
Each assumption is shown with what supports it, what cuts against it and what could not be established.
Competitor profiles show the range, the buyer groups addressed and the overlap with your product, as the companies' own material states it.
Distributor entries show the role, the brands carried and where the range overlaps yours. A brand's own partner listing is stronger evidence of a role than a distributor's claim about itself.
Gaps in competitor ranges are recorded where the sources show them. Where they cannot be told from the sources, the cell is marked unavailable.
Where no source gives them, nothing is estimated.
An exclusive arrangement between a brand and a distributor can exist without being published.
The work is desk research on public sources and material you provide.
What counts as comparable is agreed first: product type, positioning and buyer group. Without it the competitor list drifts towards anything vaguely related.
Each company is placed by role. Companies that play both roles are flagged.
Findings are classified as verified fact, inference, unavailable or client-provided and set against the assumption they bear on.
Research reports what can be established from public and provided sources. It is not a guarantee about a counterparty's future conduct and not legal advice.
A research pack collects and structures evidence and stops before the decision. Whether and how to enter the market is a separate assessment.
No. It is a profile map built to inform a decision, with sources, not a contact dataset.
We show what the sources say about each candidate. Choosing one is your decision.
The pack sets distributor evidence against the decision questions. A search for partners against criteria is a separate service, Distributor and Partner Search.
