RFQ and Quote Comparison

A clear request, and quotes you can compare.

Quotes cannot be compared when the request left gaps and each supplier answered in its own units and terms. This service covers both ends: it drafts the request from your specification and then normalises the answers to one basis. You receive an RFQ document and a comparison matrix with gaps flagged, a weighted comparison and a recommendation summary stating its assumptions.

The decision this page is about

How do these quotes compare on what we asked?

Two numbers on a page rarely mean the same thing. One supplier quotes per piece with tooling separate, another a package; one assumes a quantity band you did not intend. The comparison rewrites each answer to the same unit, quantity and scope, and shows what remains uncertain, so a decision is made on like terms.

The recommendation summary is a reading of the matrix under stated weights. Change the weights and it changes; both are shown.

It does not predict how a supplier will perform after the order.

What makes a request comparable

What makes a request comparable

Specification fixed once

The same drawing or description goes to every supplier, so differences in answers are about the supplier.

Quantity bands stated

Ask for named bands, so prices are compared at the same volume.

Terms listed as questions

Payment terms, validity, sample policy and revisions are asked for, not left to be volunteered.

Response format given

A simple structure lets answers be set side by side without reinterpretation.

Weighting changes the answer

Weighting changes the answer

A buyer who prioritises unit cost

Price carries the weight and the matrix shows what is traded away in terms or minimums.

A buyer who cannot tolerate a late start

Stated lead conditions and sample policy are weighted higher and the comparison shows the cost of that choice.

A team balancing risk across two suppliers

The comparison shows where two answers complement each other instead of ranking them.
