Central & Eastern Europe Gateway
Constanța's Black Sea connectivity gives Romania a plausible role as an entry point for onward distribution toward parts of Central and Eastern Europe. We advise on whether this fits your specific distribution plan.
Express — 3–6 Days
Urgent shipments via express air courier. Samples, prototypes and time-critical consignments delivered door-to-door across Romania in 3–6 days.
DDP — Delivered Duty Paid
Where available, import customs clearance, EU duty and Romanian VAT (TVA, 21% standard rate) can be pre-paid by Latynex as part of an all-inclusive landed cost quote — and you typically don't need to register your own EORI for that shipment. Exact eligibility depends on shipment structure and destination.
No Invented Local Presence
Latynex does not operate its own warehouses, brokers or offices in Romania. Import customs clearance under DDP is handled through licensed Romanian customs brokers as part of the service — not through a Latynex-owned local facility.

Romanian import customs clearance
The import declaration is filed with Romanian customs (Autoritatea Vamală Română) as part of our arranged customs process. Under DDP, where applicable, EU duty and Romanian VAT are paid on your behalf; under DAP, we notify you of the amount payable.
Final delivery to your Romanian address
Cleared cargo is delivered to your specified address: warehouse, office, or 3PL fulfilment centre.

Importing Into Romania — What You Need to Know
A practical guide to Romanian import requirements for businesses shipping from China — duty, VAT (recently changed), EORI, and honest scope of what Latynex does and doesn't operate locally.
EU Import Duty (TARIC)
Romania is part of the EU Customs Union — import duty rates follow the EU's Common External Tariff (TARIC), identical to the rest of the EU. The exact rate depends on your product's HS code. We calculate your duty rate before confirming any DDP quote.
Romanian VAT (TVA) — Recently Changed
Romania's standard VAT rate increased from 19% to 21% in August 2025, when the previous 5%/9% reduced rates were also replaced by a single 11% reduced rate for qualifying categories. Under DDP, where applicable, Latynex applies the current rate and pre-pays it on your behalf. VAT-registered Romanian businesses can typically reclaim it on their regular return. Confirm your product's exact rate if a reduced category may apply.
EORI Number
An EORI number is generally required to file import customs declarations in Romania. Under DDP, where available, import customs clearance is arranged on your behalf so you typically don't need one for that shipment. Under DAP, you would register an EORI with Romanian customs before your first import.

Constanța is genuinely the Black Sea's largest port and a major EU gateway toward Central Asia and the Caucasus. Latynex does not operate its own warehouses, brokers, or offices at the port or elsewhere in Romania — import clearance is handled through licensed Romanian customs brokers as part of the DDP service.
