Containers for storage and site use
For businesses that need dry, lockable space at a site. The right box is the cheapest one that stays dry and can actually be delivered where you need it.

Check before you order
- Size: 20' for tight access and heavy contents in a small footprint; 40' or 40' high cube when you need length or headroom for pallets and shelving.
- Grade: wind and watertight is usually enough for static storage. Cargo-worthy costs more and is rarely needed on a yard.
- Doors and seals: both doors open fully and the gaskets are intact, because most moisture problems start there.
- Floor and roof: the floor is solid, with no soft spots, and the roof has no deep dents that hold water.
- Delivery access: the lorry's turning space, the overhead clearance and the unloading method, such as tilt-bed or crane.
- Ground: a level, drained base. Containers on soft ground twist and the doors stop closing properly.
Wind and watertight is the storage grade
A container that is no longer fit to carry cargo can be an excellent store. What matters is that the structure is sound, the doors close and the roof and walls keep water out. Surface rust and cosmetic dents do not stop a box from doing that job, which is why the cheaper wind and watertight grade is the usual choice for storage.
Ask for photos of the doors, the floor and the roof from the inside. A box that looks fine from the outside can still let water in at the door seals.
Plan the delivery before you buy
A 40-foot container needs a long, straight approach and room to unload. On a farm or in a narrow yard it can be easier to take two 20-foot boxes than one 40-foot. Tell us the access limits when you register, so a lot is only proposed if it can be placed.
Delivery to the site, and unloading with a tilt-bed or crane, is coordinated with the agreed lot and quoted with the terms.
Keeping the contents dry
Condensation is the common enemy: warm, humid air meets cold steel. Ventilation openings, a raised base so air can move underneath and desiccant for sensitive goods help. For food, feed or chemicals, check the local rules and the container's earlier use before you load; a used box can carry traces of its previous cargo.
Security and permits
Lock boxes and door bars are fitted by the buyer or a workshop. Some municipalities require permission to place a container on a plot or beside a road; confirm this with the authority before delivery, because we cannot do it for you.
