Selling and sourcing used containers at the Port of Aarhus

The Port of Aarhus reports record container volumes for 2025 and describes itself as Denmark's largest container port. More boxes passing through one terminal does not mean more boxes for sale, but it does mean more equipment arriving without an obvious return job, which is exactly the moment to report it.

A busy terminal with one operator

The port states that its container terminal is run by APM Terminals. As always we do not act for the operator; we ask which terminal a lot will stand in and when it is released, because that sets how much time there is to find a buyer.

Growth and what it changes for you

The port says its 2025 volumes rose by nearly 28 percent and attributes part of that to capacity limits at other European ports. Whatever the cause, larger flows through Aarhus mean owners with used, one-way or SOC equipment there may see more idle boxes. Report them early and we compare them with registered demand.

Jutland buyers

Traders, storage operators, conversion companies and other business users in Jutland can register a type and a quantity range. If the best fit stands elsewhere in Denmark or in Germany, we show the reviewer the real distance so you can judge it.

A second terminal in the plans

The port has announced that MSC Group's terminal operator plans to run its own container terminal in a future development, expected to be completed by 2027. We mention it because it may change who handles equipment at Aarhus later; it changes nothing today.
