Container owners and lessors: a resale channel for equipment that ends up in Europe
Equipment sometimes finishes its job in Europe, and moving it back is not always the best answer. We help you find a professional buyer and run the resale in a controlled way, once or as a standing arrangement.
At a glance
What to tell us about the equipment
- Country and depot or port where the units stand, or will stand.
- Container type: 20GP / 20DV, 40GP / 40DC, 40HC / 40HQ, or other equipment case by case.
- Quantity, and whether it is one lot or a series.
- Condition as you grade it, and photos if you have them.
- When the units can be released: already, or an expected date.
- Whether this is a one-off lot or a flow that repeats.
- An asking price, if you want to give one. It is optional.
Who this channel is built for
Leasing companies with units coming off hire in Europe. NVOCCs and shipper-owner operators whose boxes end a movement far from where the next job starts. Fleet managers who rotate older equipment out and need a quiet, professional route for the units that are leaving the fleet.
If you only have a single box and want a quick local sale, the general reporting page is the better start. This page is for owners who think in lots, programmes and rotation cycles.
The situations where a European resale makes sense
Equipment comes off a lease and the return location is far from any demand. A movement ends in Europe and an empty return would cost more than the unit is worth to you on that lane. A fleet rotation retires units that are still sound. A project ends and the units are no longer needed.
In each case the useful question is the same: who in this region can use these units, and under which terms. We look for that buyer so you do not have to run a market search alongside your normal operations.
What we do, and what stays with you
We describe the lot to buyers who may be interested, collect their conditions and bring you proposals. You decide whether a proposal is acceptable, and you remain the seller until a deal is agreed in writing. Inspection, release instructions and handover can be coordinated alongside.
We do not promise that a lot will sell, at what price or how quickly, and we do not reserve or hold your equipment. Interest differs by type, location and timing. If a lot is unlikely to sell on the terms you have in mind, we tell you early so you can decide what to do instead.
One lot, or a standing arrangement
A single lot is the simplest way to test how the process works for your team. If equipment becomes available in Europe repeatedly, a standing arrangement saves time on both sides: you tell us in advance which type and which locations to expect, and where that is known we can prepare buyer interest ahead of time. No volume or sale is promised by either side.
Recurring does not mean exclusive. You keep your own channels, and we work as an additional route where it makes sense for a given lot.
Confidentiality
In our process your stock list is not published and your name is not given to a buyer before you have confirmed the terms. We describe lots by type, quantity, grade and location, not by owner. This is how we run the work, not a legal undertaking; where you need a formal confidentiality agreement, it is agreed separately. The detailed process is explained on the page about how a deal runs.
