Italy · container resale

Selling and sourcing used containers in Italy

Not every container that enters an Italian port stays in Italy. Ports of Genoa separates gateway traffic from transhipment in its own figures, and only the first can realistically be resold locally. LATYNEX takes reports of container supply and demand from Italy and matches professional counterparties under human review.

Areas we cover

Genoa has its own page with sourced port context. Other Italian ports and inland sites are handled on request: name the place in the form and we will say whether we can help there.

Which boxes can be placed

A container that is only passing through Italy on a ship is not for sale here. A container that is delivered to an Italian consignee, or emptied in Italy, may be. So we ask owners whether their equipment is gateway or transhipment cargo.

Owners and buyers

Owners, importers and NVOCCs report used, one-way, SOC, off-hire or damaged containers with type, quantity and release date. Business buyers register a type, a quantity range and how far they can collect. Italy is long, so we compare real distances between places.

Euro and customs

Italy uses the euro and lies in the EU customs territory. A lot arriving from outside the EU needs a clear customs position before resale; you and your agent settle that.
