Storage stays temporary, reuse is the goal

The Polish government business portal describes a temporary storage declaration that is filed no later than when goods are presented at the customs office, and EU rules limit temporary storage to 90 days before goods must be placed under a procedure or re-exported. Those rules are for you and your customs agent; what we add is an earlier route to a local buyer, so the container is not left waiting.

• Under EU customs rules (Art. 149 UCC), goods in temporary storage must be placed under a customs procedure or re-exported after 90 days.
• In Poland, a temporary storage declaration (DSK) is filed through AIS/IMPORT PLUS via the PUESC portal no later than when goods are presented at the customs office.
• Poland has been an EU member state since 1 May 2004 and in Schengen since 21 December 2007 (EU country profile).
